The human race is now past seven billion people - 7 000 000 000. That's 35 people for every square mile of the planet. There are a lot of ways we will need to become more efficient as we move into the future: water, food types, land dominance, energy are some of the big one. The question today is:
What are elements of our lives we'll have to give up in order for humans to continue thriving on Earth? Try to connect what we lose with what level of wealth we have.
- For example: South Asians living in dessert regions, where water is extremely scarce, will need to adopt technologies to collect water from the air, from their sweat and also from their urine, while becoming more efficient with all of the water they collect.
- By comparison, westerners will need to give up independant swimming pools and start using micro-cleansing showers which use much less water to offer the same level of cleanliness.
