Big data, but little information?

An interesting article on POPSCI by Lawrence Weschler on how we'll handle the vast amount of data we, as a species, are compiling at a breakneck pace. And this is before (or perhaps just as) the writer-bots begin absorbing and synthesizing information in order to free up the need to let humans do the job of reporting on humanity.

Using drones for precision farming will decrease farming costs and water usage/contamination

A great article on Next Big Future about drones and precision farming. I think we tend to forget that efficiency is in everyone's interest, from a standpoint of cost of operation for everyone from the farmers to the customer. The losers may be government taxes on bulk and also some job losses, but the drones will require operators and secialists ot repair them. Most will require trainers to introduce best use concepts.
